Anderson Mill is located just 20 minutes northwest of Downtown Austin, near the intersection of Highway 183 and RR 620.
This area is near the border of Travis and Williamson counties and the students in this area attend school within Round Rock ISD. Students attend schools in Round Rock ISD. You can view campus boundaries by visiting their website.
Anderson Mill was named after Thomas Anderson, who built a mill in the area to supply items to the Confederate Army. Shortly after he died, the area was abandoned until the boom in the late 90's. The town of Anderson Mill was annexed by the city of Austin in 2008; however the original town retained control over several neighborhood parks, pools and sports facilities that are run by the Anderson Mill Limited District.
Anderson Mill is only a few short minutes away from Lake Travis, Volente beach water park, golfing at Balcones Country Club, shopping and dining.
